Information we collect
Information you give us directly. When you use our Contact / Start a Project form, or otherwise email or call us, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, and the details of your enquiry or project.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours is hosted on Squarespace, which automatically collects some technical information when you visit — such as your IP address, browser and device type, general location (derived from IP address), pages viewed, and how you arrived at the Site. This is gathered through cookies and similar tracking technologies; see the Cookies section below.
We do not collect any special category data (such as health or financial information) through this Site, and the Site does not process payments.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
• Respond to enquiries submitted through our Contact form or made by email or phone
• Provide quotes, discuss projects, and deliver our construction services to clients
• Understand how visitors use our Site, so we can improve it
• Meet our legal and regulatory obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Our legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
• Legitimate interests — for running and improving our Site, and responding to general enquiries
• Consent — where you have actively opted in, such as accepting non-essential cookies
• Contract / steps prior to a contract — where we are discussing or delivering a construction project with you
You can withdraw consent at any time (for example, by adjusting your cookie preferences or asking us to stop contacting you); this will not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Cookies
Our Site uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to make the Site work properly and to understand how it's used. This includes cookies set by Squarespace, our website platform, for essential site functionality and (where enabled) analytics.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, and where required we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies via a cookie banner on the Site.
Sharing your information
We share personal information with:
• Squarespace, Inc., our website hosting and forms provider, which processes data on our behalf to operate the Site (Squarespace's own privacy practices are described at squarespace.com/privacy)
• Other service providers who support our business operations (for example, email providers), where necessary
• Regulators or authorities, where we are legally required to
We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Squarespace, may store or process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure your data remains protected.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry and project-related information for as long as is necessary to respond to your enquiry, deliver any project you engage us for, and meet our legal, accounting, or insurance obligations afterwards. We do not keep personal data for longer than necessary.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
• Ask what personal data we hold about you, and request a copy of it
• Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Ask us to delete your data, in certain circumstances
• Ask us to restrict or object to how we use your data
• Ask for your data to be provided to you, or transferred, in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, email construction@glexin.co.uk. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children's privacy
Our Site is intended for a general business audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our practices or the law. Any updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
